Stress affects our lives in a variety of dangerous and seemingly uncontrollable ways. Understanding what stress is, how it affects us and most importantly, how to control, manage and avoid it is vital to your health and your business productivity.

 

Stress in an instinctive reaction to the stimuli in our lives. It is a complex set of physiological responses to a perceived threat to life and limb. Called the "fight or flight" response, these signals come from the oldest parts of our brain and were designed by our early evolutionary development to keep us alive. But times have changed. The world around us has changed faster than our bodies can adapt. Without conscious effort and training these inherent survival skills can harm us more than help us.

This primal instinct was crucial to the survival of ancient humans. It instantly created a state of physical readiness to fight for our lives or run for our lives. This was and still is a functional response if you find yourself suddenly facing a hungry tiger. Fleeing or fighting is less functional if you are facing an angry customer or stuck in traffic, but the effect on your body is very much the same.

 

Unfortunately, the instinctive centers of your brain don't know the difference between the angry boss and a tiger. Your brain simply triggers the "Stress Response" and your hormones and thought react uncontrollably. 

 

This training is very adaptable to your situation. Stress Reduction Sessions can be done one-on-one or as a corporate training session for employees.
